Among other things I am experimenting with bigger scales and charcoal drawing on canvas. The surface is really rough so that I have to adjust my drawing which will lead to quite a different result than what I actually wanted.
I coated the canvas with a pastell primer/acrylic mix which is a warm grey (it looks colder on the photo).

looks good man ... will be interesting to se how this one turns out - trying to push myself bigger and bigger as well, things just take so long to complete! - on the larger work like this do you use some type of projection to get your initial guidelines or do you just freehand it? - i dont see a grid of sorts so i am just curious as to how you start out
